Snow Day

Snow days are nice and all but it doesn't make for a very productive time. Also, it makes for a very boring time because everything is cancelled!! Luckily, all upcoming shows are either later this month or in upcoming months or they are happening on the weekends. If you are into artsy stuff check out the exhibit at the Portland Art Museum called Backstage Pass: Rock & Roll Photography. I will be definitely be checking it out over Spring Break.

Stuff That is Almost Relevant

To start things off locally Wolves Among Sleep have a new song out that will apparently be featured on Homegrown on WTOS 105.1 on Wednesday nights at 6. I know this is jumping ahead a little but I'm really excited!! Flight of the Conchords are on tour and are coming to the Boston area April 17th so more details to come on that. Don't forget that if you are a Cambiata fan that their self-titled CD is in stores now. Lastly, if you are an SNL fan or more precisely an Andy Samberg fan his group The Lonely Island consisting of Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer, and Andy Samberg released their first album Incredibad on Tuesday. It's really funny and has a ton of celebrities singing on the tracks including Jack Black and Julian Casablancas from The Strokes.

On the Local Side

I know this doesn't really fit with all things music and what not but I thought it was kind of cool. University of Maine is having a free class called How to Grow Your Own Food. It is an off campus event being held at the Rangeley Public Library in Rangeley, Maine today. Check it out if you ever want to grow some vegetables. Also going on on-campus at the University of Maine is the new Collins Center for the Arts they are featuring numerous art shows as part of it's opening. Back to music now, this Friday Trust Company, The Dreaming, Eve to Adam, Loki, and Tear Down the Sun are playing at the 103 Ultra Lounge. Another exciting show coming to the 103 soon is Nonpoint. More details to come.
